According to Amazon.com, RollerCoaster Tycoon World will be released on March 30, 2016. Atari has not yet confirmed this date as they are still stating an “early 2016 release.” They want to ensure they are delivering a high quality product before giving a definite release date. It’s been over a decade since the last proper PC release in the once-triumphant RollerCoaster Tycoon series. It’s exciting to hear that the developers drew inspiration from the excellent Cities: Skylines, which allows for curved paths and more freeform design (though the classic grid can also be turned on). Atari did confirm that RCTW will becoming to both PC and MAC, but they did not say when each would be out.
New Roller Coaster Tycoon Screenshots
Over the past month, the RollerCoaster Tycoon World (RCTW) team has been sharing a slew of screenshots of the heavily anticipated theme park simulation game. The graphics are a noticeable step up from the game’s 2004 predecessor, RollerCoaster Tycoon 3, which I know a lot of fans were worried about. Some of the shots below are of the Outlaw Canyon park featuring a wild west style theme. There are also some screenshots from the Adrenaline Meadows park.
RCTW has been in development for what seems like forever and has had countless release date delays. We’ll see if the March 30 target sticks this time. Pre-order RollerCoaster Tycoon World from Amazon.com here.
